Grease Fittings, also referred to as Zerk Fittings, Grease Zerks, Lube Fittings, Grease Nipples or Alemite Fittings; are small one-way valves used to allow easy lubrication of bearings and joints. They're commonly found in the automotive, marine and agricultural industries, on industrial machinery, lawn & garden equipment, recreational vehicles, bearings, axles, motors, drives and chains.

The 1/4-28 Tapered Thread (SAE-LT) is the most commonly used Grease Fitting in the automotive industry. 1/4-28 SAE-LT taper threads are designed to be assembled into a 1/4-28 UNF, Class 3B straight threaded hole; the tap drill must not exceed .215" in diameter.
