  • Compatible with: Keensert, Keysert, Rock Solid K-Type or any other standard Key-Locking Screw Thread Inserts
Our Standard Plug Taps are used to create threads for the installation of Key-Locking Thread Inserts.  Unlike Helical Inserts, where a special STI Tap is required, Key-Locking Inserts only require the more common standard Taps.  The Tap size needed is simply the same as the external thread size of the Key-Locking Insert.

The "Plug" style Tap is ideal for starting or tapping a through hole.  The Tap can be used and the Key Insert can be installed in most materials including aluminum, magnesium, cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic.  Proudly made in the USA.

Tap also available in the following styles: Spiral Point, Spiral Flute, Bottoming & Spiral Flute Bottoming.  Please call for quote and availability.
